The Pages and Chantres from the Centre de musique baroque de Versailles present a programme of works for double choir, marking the final chapter in their collaboration with IRCAM. Adrien Trybucki’s La Maladie de l'âme, set to a text by Jacques Roubaud, is written for double choir a cappella and requires two conductors. Charpentier’s Motet pour les trépassés, subtitled Plaintes des âmes du purgatoire, echoes Dante’s visions of the afterlife, while pieces by Pierre Robert and Henri Du Mont, former sous-maîtres at the Chapelle Royale, complete this journey through time—where centuries of choral tradition meet the present.

Discover a unique musical world where Baroque and electronic music intersect and transform! This documentary takes you inside the creative process of Jug Marković, Justina Repečkaitė, Ariadna Alsina Tarrés, and Adrien Trybucki, composers from IRCAM, who have created new works for the Pages and Chantres choir of the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles. Under the musical direction of Fabien Armengaud and Clément Buonomo, these compositions push the boundaries between two seemingly contrasting traditions. This immersive experience offers insight into Janus, patrimoine et création (lit. Janus, Heritage and Creation), a project developed by CMBV and IRCAM with the support of the French Ministry of Culture—leading up to the premiere of Adrien Trybucki’s Encre Simulacre at the Royal Chapel on June 19.
