Final performance of the Academy workshops
The young instrumentalists of the ULYSSES Ensemble continue their exploration of the contemporary repertoire with works by Croatian composer Sara Glojnarić and Italian composer Marco Momi. In the Dust of This Planet by Mauro Lanza, along with the miniatures by the young composers of the Composing Space workshop, invite audiences into electronic adventures. In his piece, Mauro Lanza poses a hypothesis that borders on science fiction: What would happen if an "other" intelligence—whether artificial or natural—used the audio data left behind by our species? A striking and thought-provoking question to conclude the academy.
