Sivan Eldar (Tel Aviv, 1985) holds a doctorate in composition from UC Berkeley and a diploma in electronic music from IRCAM. Her music is published by Éditions Durand and has been featured in various publications (Opera Magazine, Diapason, Transfuge, SF Boston Globe). Her debut opera Like Flesh premiered at the Opéra de Lille, before touring France and Belgium. Other projects include After Arethusa (Venice Biennale), Una Mujer Derramada (Théâtre du Châtelet), Heave (Centre Pompidou) and Solicitations (Wien Modern). She won the Prix de Rome-Villa Medicis 2022, the Prix Fedora Opéra 2021, and the Prix SACD Nouveau Talent 2023. Future projects include a chamber opera with director Peter Sellars and singer GANAVYA (2025), and a second opera with playwright Cordelia Lynn (2028).
