Núria Giménez Comas studied piano and then mathematics before turning to composition in 2006 at the Escuela Superior de Música de Catalunya (Barcelona). She studied with Christophe Havel, who introduced her to electroacoustics, the importance of timbre work, and the interaction between computers and the instrumentalist.

Her work is focused on two themes: timbral transformation (through the expansion and cohesion of timbres and harmony) and the articulation between music and image or music and the poetic voice.

She has carried out a number of projects working on spatialization, notably with the Quatuor Diotima, a piece for Cursus 2, and a research residency on 3D synthesis at IRCAM and ZKM with Marlon Schumacher.
