Aida Shirazi is an Iranian composer of acoustic and electroacoustic music. Her music, for solo instruments, voice, ensemble, orchestra and electronics, focuses primarily on timbre to organize structures often inspired by language and literature, as well as by Iranian classical music.

 

Her music has been performed at festivals such as ManiFeste, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Mostly Mozart, and MATA. She has worked with Miranda Cuckson, Lucy Fitz Gibbon, Carrie Henneman Shaw, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the International Contemporary Ensemble, and the Ensemble Dal Niente. Aida Shirazi studied with Mika Pelo, Pablo Ortiz and Kurt Rohde and is completing her doctorate in composition at the University of California.
