Cortèges is a collective adventure Hybridizing orchestra, electronics and danced and sung performance, imagined by Sasha J. Blondeau, François Chaignaud and the author Hélène Gaignaud, in which one person leaves their home and joins a mass of people forming outside. The individual won over by the crowd, the monologue won over by the song, the music won over by the dance, the orchestra won over by the electronic synthesis, the identity won over by the disorder: this dramaturgy of rhythms and unisons, of trajectories and flights, disturbs the common hierarchies of the concert hall. Opposite Cortèges, Edgard Varèse, with his Density 21.5 for flute and the iconic work for large orchestra, Amériques. Varèse literally lifts the orchestra inherited from post-romanticism and plunges it into the physics of a new world. Stunning music with its sirens, crowds and percussion cohort, a unique symbiosis of art and life.
