"In this part, in this part of my memory, in this part of the book: in this part of the book of my memory a new life begins." Many ghosts inhabit Sanguinetti and Berio's Laborintus II, in particular Dante's. This performance is an allegory, a documentary, a dance, a radio poem, all at once. Each performance of Laborintus II is meant to reinvent its "place and its formula". This labyrinth is crossed by a thousand ghosts, invited by human memory. A memory of a species and of myth (the enumeration of genealogies and the flood); a memory of History (culture and usury, that "unnatural sin"); an individual memory which is inextricably bound to the music that forms it. Laborintus II, directed by David Lescot, ends with an ode to music and sonic dreams, an unforgettable conclusion to an absolute masterpiece.
